HENRY STERN

HENRY STERN was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up in the country where he learned to fish for bass and bluegill in ponds. Henry discovered Virginia’s saltwater fish on the Piankatank River, Rappahannock River, and the Chesapeake Bay. Since then, Henry has developed an interest in wild native brook trout, Virginia’s official State Freshwater Fish. Henry’s true passion is combining his love of hiking, the mountains, and fly fishing in pursuit of brook trout. A graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School and a member of Leave No Trace, Henry believes it is essential that we treat our rivers, lakes and the coastal ecosystems with the same care as our mountain wilderness. Henry works at Orvis in Richmond where he is able to help people enjoy the same love of wild native fish that have helped shape his life. He can be reached at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org
