New York NFC Is Now Live!

NFC is proud and pleased to announce our newest state chapter, New York

As has been our model, we are launching with a small board, including officers, after making sure it was a good fit for all involved. We will be adding some new board members as we identify more candidates. If you are interested in being considered for a board position in NY, please email us at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org.

We would like to thank our new NY team for their interest in NFC and native fish conservation, and their willingness to step up and get involved. Special thanks to Scott Daskiewich (Chair), Aaron Hardy (Vice Chair), Mark Black (Secretary), and board members Ron Fischer, Robert Piparo, Philip Schwehm, Moshe Silverstein, Dr. Keith G. Tidball, and Charles Witek.

We are very excited about a NY chapter for a number of reasons. First is that it bridges the gap between our New England and Northeast/Mid-Atlantic contiguous footprints, creating a single footprint that now includes ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, NY, PA, WV, and OH. And NY is a critically important rare lake/pond brook trout state. Plus NY is the most populated state in the east outside of FL…

Thanks to everyone involved for stepping up in support of New York’s wild native fish. And thanks to NFC National Vice Chair Philip Light, National Chair Emily Bastian, and Technologist Ben Brunt for their invaluable assistance.
